The Kenny Tooker Memorial Scholarship

10/6 The Kenny Tooker Memorial Classic was held in chest-high conditions in Bay Head.  Billed as the first, to be annual, scholarship fundraising contest, the event could not have been better. Waves, sun, excellent vibe  Kenny would have approved.  Tighe beat out Alex Barlow (right) in the Jrs.  Bobby Duerr won the "Old Guys", Carleigh Sion took the womens, Steve Krohr Boys BB, John Mangini-Open BB & Alex Califano-Mens LB.  A lot of money was raised and the community came through big and the local businesses were huge with donations. Photos Here

10/6  Dean Randazzo beats Matt Keenan again this time in the SquanPro, Sam Hammer and Kyle Garson followed.
10/3 Dean Randazzo (right) wins his second Garden State Grudge Match today beating Matt Keenan  in the man-on-man final in Seaside Hts.  Jon Coen full story is HERE.  Dean beat out Randy Townend in the semis,  while Matt took out Ben Graeff to make to the final.  Many of the local favorites dropped early, but there were nice waves behind the heavy fog.   Ireland: Back in August, N'East Mag locked down N'East Editor Jon Coen (left), Brand Manager Tyler Briggs, photographers Nick Lavecchia, Ann Coen, Snapwater and talent, Randy Gaetano, Josh Clements, and Jamie Moran to capture the best the emerald isle has to offer, which, on top of creamy delicious stout, also includes countless reefs with thick reeling barrels.  To our surprise and good fortune – we hit it right this time ... a 15 foot + long period groundswell is slamming the coast of Ireland, and it is only getting bigger.  Extended forecasts predict the swell to double in size over the coming days ... look for the results of the trip in the Photo Annual on newsstands late February.   more

Dec 16 produced some huge faces after the quick moving Nor'Easter moved offshore.  Photogs Jack Reynolds (right) on LBI and Chris Zeh (left) slightly north battled the high winds to get you these shots.  Above, Desis Weiler sent in this shot of Luke Ditella ... saying it was "somewhere in NJ."

Sam Hammer beat Mike Gleason in the man on man winner take all $3500 final in Seaside Hts Monday in another classic NJ event.  Sam took out Chris Eaves in the Semis and Gleason beat Jamie Moran to set up the final showdown.  Big slow waves after an overnight and morning clean up provided yet another epic GSGM and Rob Cloupe made a good call watching the swells.
